My first creative experience was adolescent. I
was sixteen and some friends introduced me to
an illicit experience. It was a complete shock,
everything became more alive and strange than
I had ever realized.

As a middle-aged parent the carved and chanted
prayers have become my primary means of
exploring and sharing the creative experience.

The carvings were developed through the practice
of Vipassanna meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka,
Tonglen, and the Prayer of the Heart.

I feel lucky to have found a way to keep my
practice alive and growing while conducting the
busy life of a father, husband, full-time employee,
and homeowner.
